چکیده

As a feasibility study for simple, fast, reliable, relocatable telerobotic systems on the Internet, we describe an interactive online lightbox system. It is accessible to anyone with a graphical browser and provides a minimalist example of interactivity. The project uses motors and light switches and returns live images resulting from user specified combinations of devices: http://www.dislocation.net/

A Design and Control Environment for Internet-Based Telerobotics

This paper describes an environment for the design, simulation and control of Internet-based force-reeecting telerobotic systems. We deene these systems as using a segment of the computer network to connect the master to the slave. Computer networks introduce a time-delay that is best described by a time-varying random process. Thus, known techniques for controlling time-delay telerobots are no...

Collaborative Teleoperation of Manipulation Tasks over the Internet using an Open, Component-based Architecture∗

The technological developments in distributed systems have led to new telerobotic applications, such as virtual laboratories and remote maintenance of complex equipment, built on top of Internet and distributed computing system infrastructures. These applications must satisfy both the general requirements of distributed computing, e.g. location transparency and interoperability, and the domain-...

Transparency and Synchronization in Supermedia Enhanced Internet-Based Teleoperation

This paper concentrates on transparency and synchronization of supermedia in Internet based teleoperation. Supermedia is used to describe the collection of all the feedback streams in teleoperations, such as haptic, video, audio, temperature and others. Transparency and synchronization are introduced and analyzed from the event-based control perspective. The concepts of event-transparency and e...

Feasibility of intercity and trans-Atlantic telerobotic remote ultrasound: assessment facilitated by a nondedicated bandwidth connection.

We discuss the concept of ultrasound imaging at a distance by presenting the evaluation of a customized, lightweight, human-safe robotic arm for low-force, long-distance, telerobotic ultrasonography. We undertook intercity and trans-Atlantic telerobotic ultrasound simulation from master stations located in New York, New York and Munich, Germany, and imaged a phantom and a human volunteer locate...

ACME, A Telerobotic Measurement Facility for Reality-Based Modelling on the Internet

The Active Measurement Facility (ACME) is an integrated robotic facility designed to acquire rich measurements from objects of moderate size, for the purpose of building accurate computational models. ACME is a telerobotic system with fteen degrees of freedom, and can be controlled from any remote location on the world wide web. We provide a brief overview of ACME, followed by aspects of telepr...
